Middleweight Tresean Gore arrived on the scale 3.5 pounds over the non-title limit for his bout with Rodolfo Vieira. Gore registered an official weight of 189.5 pounds, compared to Vieira’s 185, and as a result has forfeited 25 percent of his fight purse to his opponent.
The same penalty applied to flyweight Rafael Estevam, who missed weight by four pounds for his bout against Felipe Bunes. Estevam tipped the scale at 130 pounds, compared to Bunes’ 125 pounds, and way above the 126-pound flyweight limit.
There were no issues at the top of the card, as main eventers Tatsuro Taira and HyunSung Park both hit the flyweight limit of 126 pounds, while lightweight co-main eventers Mateuez Rebecki and Chris Duncan hit 155.5 and 156 pounds respectively for their matchup.
Those two big weight misses aside, everyone else was on point, and with all 12 fights confirmed for Saturday night, the full fight card is set for action at the UFC APEX.
