There’s a new contender in the UFC’s talent-stacked welterweight division. Ecuador’s Michael Morales blasted his way to a first-round TKO finish of divisional staple Gilbert Burns in the main event of UFC Vegas 106 to surge into the welterweight top 10 and put the rest of the 170-pound division firmly on notice.

Morales’ brilliant finish of Burns showcased his reach, punch power and hand speed as he overwhelmed the Octagon veteran in the opening round to extend his perfect record to 18-0. And, when the official UFC rankings were updated on Monday, Morales was promoted four spots in the list as he went up to eighth in the welterweight list.

The big question now is, who will Morales fight next? There’s a host of potentially huge matchups ahead of him in the welterweight rankings, but which ones represent realistic options for his next outing?
