Ankalaev vs Pereira 2 headlines a stacked lineup of MMA action this weekend, and on this week’s episode of the RDX Sports Podcast, RDX Sports Editor-in-Chief Simon Head takes a look at the four big fight cards set to dominate the MMA landscape this weekend.
On Friday, October 3, Usman Nurmagomedov will take on Paul Hughes for the second time as the PFL’s biggest rivalry gets a big-time rematch at PFL Champions Series 2 in Dubai, with the newly-established PFL lightweight world championship up for grabs.
On Saturday, October 4, European MMA takes centre stage during the evening, with Cage Warriors middleweight champion Dario Bellandi putting his title on the line in the main event of Cage Warriors 195 in Rome, Italy, while in Bratislava, Slovakia, OKTAGON 77 will feature the semi-finals of the €1 million Tipsport Gamechanger middleweight tournament, as Kerim Engizek, Dominik Humburger, Krzysztof Jotko and Hojat Khajevand do battle for a spot in the tournament finale.
Then, late on Saturday night, all eyes turn to Las Vegas, and a huge card of fights at T-Mobile Arena, as UFC 320 features two championship matches. Ankalaev rematches Pereira for the light heavyweight title in the main event, while in the co-main, reigning bantamweight world champion Merab Dvalishvili puts his title on the line against the dangerous Cory Sandhagen.
Also set for action at UFC 320 is RDX Sports ambassador Khalil Rountree Jr, who faces off against former light heavyweight champion Jiri Prochazka in a contender clash that could, if one of them wins impressively enough, see them challenge the winner of the main event further down the line.
