French lightweight star Amin Ayoub has signed for the promotion, and will make his PFL Europe debut on home soil when he takes on Belgium’s Donovan Desmae in the co-main event on Friday, September 26.
The fight represents an immediate opportunity for Ayoub to make an impact as he looks to improve on his 25-5 career record against the experienced Desmae, who has a 19-10 record to his name.
Ayoub arrives in PFL Europe at the perfect time. The promotion has gathered some real momentum in Europe over the past 18 months, and has unlocked the French market as somewhere they have made a crucial part of their plans moving forward.
PFL Europe Nantes is the latest stop in France for the promotion, but it isn’t the last this year, with the PFL Europe Finals set to take place in Lyon on December 13.
Ayoub will bolster PFL Europe’s roster of French stars that includes former kickboxing champion Cedric Doumbé, “The Lazy King” Abdoul Abdouraguimov and Baysangur “Baki” Chamsoudinov, and the fighter known as “Fierceness” will look to make a statement on his promotional debut when he faces former Cage Warriors lightweight title challenger Desmae, who has finished 14 of his 19 career wins.
“This is not just a signature. It’s a promise. PFL, I’m ready for war. Pain breaks the weak, glory crowns the warrior,” said Ayoub.
“Almost the same number of fights, almost the same ranking in our country and Europe. I’m making it clear, it’s gonna be a dog fight,” said Desmae.
