The former Bellator bantamweight champion was granted his unconditional release by the PFL last week and, during the live broadcast of UFC Vegas 106 on Saturday night, it was announced that Mix had signed with the UFC.
Mix, who was sat at Octagonside at the UFC APEX for the fights, was shown on camera, with the broadcast team of Jon Gooden, Paul Felder and Michael Bisping announcing that the 31-year-old will make his Octagon debut at UFC 316, where he’ll take on the 10th-ranked bantamweight contender Mario Bautista.

After going 11-0 as an amateur, Mix turned pro in May 2016 and won 13 straight fights before dropping a decision to Juan Archuleta at Bellator 246 in 2020.
Mix rebounded immediately and has gone unbeaten since. In his 19th career bout he knocked out Raufeon Stots in the first round to capture the Bellator Bantamweight Tournament title, and the interim 135-pound crown. Then, in his next fight, he submitted Sergio Pettis via second-round rear-naked choke to unify the bantamweight titles. His last appearance came under the Bellator Champions Series banner, where he edged as split decision against Magomed Magomedov.
Now, with his career record standing at 20-1, and after being granted his unconditional release by the PFL, Mix is ready to embark on a new chapter in his MMA career, and joins his fiancee UFC women’s strawweight contender Tatiana Suarez on the UFC roster.
