Stamp became the first and only athlete in ONE Championship history to simultaneously hold World Titles across three combat sports. Her collection included the atomweight kickboxing, Muay Thai, and MMA belts before the 2022 knee injury derailed her career momentum.
The 27-year-old Thai fighter chose kickboxing rather than MMA for her comeback, viewing it as a measured approach to test her conditioning and timing. The decision allows her to rebuild rhythm after the extended absence.
“I decided to go for kickboxing before MMA because I wanted to warm up my body first,” Stamp explained.
“I’ve been away for two years, and the muscle I lost after the surgery is all gone. I need to see how things go. I want to check my mental state, my physical condition, and if my endurance is still there.”
Her analysis of Kana focuses on exploiting openings created by the Japanese fighter’s aggressive in-and-out movement. Stamp believes her power advantage can dictate the pace while Kana’s speed and combinations create the primary threats.
“If I had to analyze Kana, her strength is her speed, like her one-two combos and her in-and-out movement,” Stamp assessed.
“As for her weakness, when she moves in and out quickly, she doesn’t always protect herself. I might be able to use a sweeping kick or something to interrupt her.”
Kana brings legitimate credentials to this matchup. The 33-year-old has faced elite competition in her ONE Championship tenure, including Anissa Meksen and Phetjeeja Lukjaoporongtom. While those contests ended in defeat, her speed and technical skills have made her dangerous against any opponent.
Stamp’s training camp at Fairtex Training Center has prioritized rebuilding the muscle lost during her rehabilitation period. Her kicking game has received particular attention, as she plans to use leg strikes to disrupt Kana’s rhythm and movement patterns.
The comeback fight happens to fall on Stamp’s birthday, adding personal significance to her return. The opportunity to face quality Japanese competition in Tokyo on that specific date made the matchup too appealing to decline.
“What I want to show in this fight is that I’m still here,” said Stamp.
“I’m not just a stepping stone for you to cross over. If you want to get past me, it’s going to be tough. I will try to show what I have, I will give it my best, and I will show everyone what Stamp Fairtex is all about.”
