The OKTAGON MMA cage returned to Frankfurt, Germany as the Festhalle played host to OKTAGON 76, where a German MMA legend made a victorious return to the cage.
Former Bellator tournament winner and M-1 Global champion Daniel Weichel had previously retired from the sport in 2023 after a 57-fight career. But on Saturday night in Frankfurt, Weichel returned to action and picked up a unanimous decision victory over France’s Abou Touncara as he showed that he can still be a factor.
Weichel’s return saw him jump up a weight class as he swapped his usual featherweight division for a new chapter as a lightweight, and he marked his return with a unanimous decision victory over Touncara to put himself right in the mix at 155 pounds.

In the co-main event, German light heavyweight phenomenon Frederic Vosgrone needed less than one round to submit Brazil’s Fabio Moraes. Vosgrone’s win extended his perfect professional record to 5-0 as he continues to make his way up the 205-pound division in search of a shot at light heavyweight champion Will Fleury.
The card featured a pair of important bouts for the 155-pound division, as ranked contenders Attila Korkmaz and Denis Frimpong both claimed victories to raise their stock in the lightweight class.
Korkmaz outpointed David Crol, while in his matchup, Frimpong defeated rising Czech contender Peter Gabal.

Gabal started fast and looked dangerous as he loaded up with heavy strikes early that forced Frimpong onto the back foot. But, after weathering the early storm, Frimpong came back with strong second round, as he smartly targeted the body and legs of his opponent to both reduce his mobility and sap his gas tank.
By the end of the round, Frimpong was clearly on top, and he carried that momentum into the final frame, where he piled the pressure on Gabal, whose resistance finally broke as “The Menace” finished him with mounted ground and pound at the 1:42 mark.
Kicking off the main card, German MMA starlet Alina Dalaslan produced one of the biggest highlight-reel moments of the night as she knocked out Clara Ricignuolo with a stunning spinning backfist.
