Frimpong will take on Peter Gabal in a lightweight matchup at the Festhalle in Frankfurt, Germany as he looks to improve his record to 7-2 and move one step closer to title contention in OKTAGON’s 155-pound division.
Frimpong signed a new contract with the Czech-Slovak promotion earlier this year, and completely dominated hot prospect Robin Frank en route to a unanimous decision victory at OKTAGON 68. “The Menace” then followed up that success with a third-round TKO finish of Arijan Topallaj at OKTAGON 71.
His next test will see him face in-form Czech lightweight Gabal, who is riding a three-fight win streak in MMA, with his last two victories coming under the OKTAGON banner.
Gabal decisioned Benny Bajrami at OKTAGON 65 last December, and most recently finished undefeated prospect Elias Jakobi with strikes in the second round at OKTAGON 71.
Now Frimpong and Gabal, fresh from their respective wins on the same night at OKTAGON 71, will go head to head when OKTAGON returns to Frankfurt’s Festhalle on September 20.
Also set for action on the card in Frankfurt are German stars Lom-Ali Eskiev, Patrick Vespaziani, Tamerlan Dulatov, Fedor Duric and Alan Omer, who will take on opposition to be named in the coming weeks. Also on the card is rising German star Alina Dalaslan, who will look to extend her perfect professional record to 3-0 when she faces France’s Clara Ricignuolo in a 60kg catchweight contest.
German-born Englishman James Hendin is also confirmed for the fight card, and will take on Belgian contender Ayton Paepe.
