Former UFC stars Till and Rockhold took centre stage at the AO Arena as they did battle for the vacant Misfits Boxing pro bridgerweight title. And it was Till who prevailed, thanks to his patience, and his punch power, as he claimed a vicious third-round KO.
Rockhold started well, and worked well behind a sharp southpaw jab. But despite conceding height and reach to the former Strikeforce and UFC middleweight champion, Till assessed the range, set his sights, then struck.
In the closing seconds of the opening round, Till unloaded two huge left hands that first rocked, then dropped Rockhold hard as he turned the first round on its head. The referee delivered an eight-count as Rockhold struggled back to his feet. Then, after the action resumed, the bell immediately sounded, and Rockhold walked to the wrong corner – a clear sign that he hadn’t fully recovered from Till’s heavy punches.

The second round saw Till stalk a more tentative Rockhold through the opening portion of the frame, but Rockhold seemed to get his legs back underneath him by the mid-point in the round as he started to find a home for his jab again. But, once again, Till connected with heavy shots towards the end of the round.
Till was well on top as the third round got underway, and while Rockhold attempted to stay in the fight, it seemed like it was only a matter of time before the Englishman’s left hand would find its mark again. And, after Till backed the American into a corner, the Liverpudlian unloaded a vicious multi-punch combination that folded up Rockhold for a highlight-reel knockout.

It was a vicious, nasty KO that left Rockhold out cold in the corner as Till celebrated his victory in front of a raucous Manchester crowd.
