But the Notorious desponded to the offer, saying a blatant no to Money, as his pride was far greater than the gold mine Mayweather was offering to him. McGregor hasty respond cleared off any doubts that the two would be pairing anytime soon to defeat the reigning champion.
However, this recent feud has led to Mayweather’s father to believe that a future Mayweather vs. McGregor is in the air. He views it a perfect opportunity for the Notorious to attempt to finish his unfinished business inside the ring.
This is what Sr. Floyd Mayweather had to say about his intuition while speaking to the media,
”It’s sounding like him and Conor McGregor are going to fight. That’s what it sounds like. I don’t know for sure, but I’m just saying the way things are sounding to me. It sounds like [Floyd’s] going to fight again, and Conor McGregor, he wants to fight again. Even though he don’t want to fight again, but he’ll fight again just to show his people what he can do – which is nothing.”
He went on to add,
”This time here, I’m gonna make sure that he gets stretched out. All the way out of the game. I want to make sure he don’t come back no more.”
Though news of the two fighting eidolons locking horns and fists have surfaced before, but it was anticipated the next showdown would be inside the octagon rather than the ring. But Floyd Sr. feels any potential fight would follow the similar pattern it did earlier – a loss to McGregor inside a boxing ring.
According to Floyd Sr.,
”I’m just saying, I think they’re gonna fight the same way. I think Conor McGregor wants that win back that he had, which is never coming back to him anyways. It’s being talked about and it sounds like a lot of interest is in it right now.”
