When the fight started, everyone found out how wrong those predictions were.
McGregor came out in fine form and took the fight to Mayweather in the first three rounds. But ‘Money’ weathered the storm and held his ground. The former world champion stormed back in later rounds that the fight had to be stopped in the 10th round.
Give credit where credit is due. Mayweather, at 40, fought his heart out. McGregor, in his debut, held his own and never got knocked down.

The world has never seen a boxing fight quite like this. It made history in more ways than one.
Mayweather is 50-0 now. He has cemented his place in the hall of great boxers in history. And he made around $300 million in what is likely to be the last fight of his career.
McGregor didn’t do so badly for himself either. By taking on one of the best boxers in history in this mega fight, he walked away with a purse of close to $100 million. Not bad for 30 minutes of work.
And Conor is not counting out a possible return to the boxing ring. The rumors and possibilities for a fight with Malignaggi are already circling in the media.
Whatever he decides to do next one thing is for sure, Conor McGregor’s star has risen and from now on everything he does will be worth a whole lot more.
