The Saturday, May 3, event will see British star Liam Nolan coming out of retirement to seek revenge against Spain’s Nauzet Trujillo inside Bangkok, Thailand’s Lumpinee Stadium, in a sequel of their February 2024 collision.
When the duo first met, Trujillo used his signature pressure to dominate Nolan. His fierce punching prowess also saw him break the British striker’s nose and score a second-round knockdown en route to a unanimous decision victory.
In the months following, Nolan would call time on his career at the young age of 26. But, with time to reflect, it appears he has decided that there is more to write in his combat sports story.
And so the WBC Muay Thai world champion will return to try and right the wrongs of yesteryear at ONE Fight Night 31.
For his part, Trujillo’s win over Nolan marked his only victory in the world’s largest martial arts organization.
The 35-year-old was last seen in action at ONE 170 in January, where he suffered a first-round knockout loss to former ONE world title challenger and lightweight standout Sinsamut Klinmee.
That said, he arrived in the promotion’s lightweight realm fresh off an impressive stint in the European Muay Thai circuit, so there is every chance that Trujillo has a lot more to show the ONE Championship fans.
With both men hungry to make a statement and show they belong among the best strikers in the world, their rematch is likely to be a barnburner when it goes down inside Lumpinee on 3rd May.
