Torres, who captured the BRAVE CF bantamweight title in 2023 when he defeated Nkosi Ndebele, previously held 125-pound gold for the Titan FC promotion earlier in his career.
Now he’s set to return to 125 pounds to ignite the latest chapter of his MMA career as he makes his comeback at BRAVE CF 95 in Tenerife, Spain, on May 30.
After winning the bantamweight title with a split-decision victory over Ndebele at BRAVE CF 73, Torres lost the rematch, and his title four months later at BRAVE CF 80.
It set the stage for an eagerly anticipated trilogy fight, and Torres ended up on the losing end of a decision as he dropped successive fights for the first time in his career.
Torres returned to action for Japanese promotion RIZIN at RIZIN 49, where he earned a split-decision victory over Makoto Shinryu in a 130-pound matchup.
Now he’s ready to move down to 125 on his BRAVE CF return, and will take on Kazakhstan’s 16-3 contender Diaz Yerengaippov, who hasn’t lost a fight since 2019.
Yerengaipov will head into the bout on a seven-fight win streak, but Torres will have the experience advantage inside the BRAVE CF cage, and “Shorty” will look to defend his territory, and kickstart a run towards the 125-pound title.
