Despite heading into their rematch – dubbed Unfinished Business – as the underdog after losing the first meeting on the scorecards, Benn delivered an outstanding performance to make a mockery of the pre-fight odds as he dropped Eubank Jr. twice in the final round en route to a landslide unanimous decision victory, with the judges scoring the fight 119-107, 116-110, 118-108.

The Final Verdict: Eubank Jr. vs Benn 2
Conor Benn left no doubt in his best performance yet
After losing the first fight against Eubank Jr, Benn arrived looking bigger and stronger at the weight, but crucially, he was armed with a better gameplan, and he stuck to it for the full 12-round duration to secure a near-shutout on the scorecards.
We scored the fight round-by-round as the action unfolded, and gave Benn every one of the 12 rounds, with Benn taking a 10-7 round in the 12th, thanks to two final-round knockdowns, for a 120-106 unofficial scorecard. It was a complete performance from a fighter who now looks set to go from being a star in the UK to the world stage with big fights for world titles.

Improved jab and targeting the body proved the key for Conor Benn
After the first fight, where he barely seemed to even throw a jab, let alone land one, Benn came into the rematch looking like a completely different fighter. Gone were the wild lunges and looping hooks, as he replaced his gung-ho style with a slick, controlled, calculated boxing approach as he worked superbly behind a consistent jab.
Benn also dished out a steady diet of body shots to Eubank Jr. throughout the 12-round fight as he chipped away at his opponent, who looked to be feeling the effects of a tough weight cut early on in the contest.

What’s next for Conor Benn and Chris Eubank Jr?
The rivalry between Eubank Jr. and Benn may now stand at one win apiece, but the nature of Benn’s dominant victory, as well as Eubank’s struggles to make weight for both bouts, mean that their in-ring rivalry may now be done and dusted.
For Benn, a move back down to 147 pounds looks likely, with WBA and WBC champions Rolly Romero and Mario Barrios both seemingly there to be made. But the easiest matchup to book could be an IBF title tilt against his Matchroom stablemate Lewis Crocker. All three of those options are likely to be on the table as he sits down with promoter Eddie Hearn in the coming months.
For Eubank, some time away from the ring seems likely, before he makes a decision on his fighting future. If he does choose to continue, he surely will have to do so at 168 pounds.
