Silva has looked outstanding since breaking into the UFC in 2023, and has stopped all four of his UFC opponents to date.
The Brazilian, a product of the Fighting Nerds team, is riding a 12-fight win streak and will look to add a 13th when he steps back into the Octagon to face the man he called out.
Silva stopped Melsik Baghdasaryan at UFC Seattle last weekend, and immediately called for a fight with Mitchell, who has courted controversy with his recent comments about Adolf Hitler.
Silva told Michael Bisping that he wanted to face Mitchell next, and the UFC has obliged by booking the pair in a featherweight matchup at UFC 314 in Miami on April 12.
UFC president and CEO Dana White confirmed the matchup in an Instagram Live video last night, and revealed that, upon hearing Silva’s callout, Mitchell had immediately texted UFC CBO Hunter Campbell to tell the promotion to book the fight.
