Spanish lightweight veteran Acoidan Duque returned to the BRAVE CF cage at BRAVE CF 95 and picked up where he left off, by claiming victory in Tenerife, Spain.
Duque, whose last BRAVE CF appearance saw him claim victory in Tenerife at BRAVE CF 75, defeated French contender Jason Ponet over three rounds in the main event at the Pabellon Santiago Martin. It was a bout that saw the pair battle for every inch during a super-competitive affair that went all the way to the judges’ scorecards.
In the end, it was the local hero who got the win, as Duque claimed the victory via split decision.
The co-main event saw a big upset as Kazakhstan’s Diaz Yerengaipov defeated former BRAVE CF bantamweight champion Jose “Shorty” Torres to put himself at the front of the line to challenge for the vacant BRAVE CF flyweight title.
Torres was widely expected to claim victory and line up a potential blockbuster title fight with former UFC star Muhammad Mokaev. But Terengaipov had other ideas, and claimed the victory on the scorecards to put himself in pole position to face Mokaev for the vacant strap.

The other main card matchup in Tenerife saw Christian Mach claim a second-round TKO finish of Spain’s Enrique Marin in their 165-pound catchweight contest.
A big head kick started the finishing sequence, and follow-up ground strikes put the finishing touches on an impressive victory for the German fighter.
Earlier in the night, Abdelkrim Zouad claimed a late submission to hand Austrian contender Muslim Danaev the first loss of his career, while Spain’s Theo Bashford went back and forth in a crazy war with Germany’s Eduard Evdokimov.
Bashford eventually made the breakthrough early in the final stanza as he connected with a perfectly-timed head kick, then finished the fight with follow-up punches to improve his record to 7-1 with a win on home soil.
