The Thai-Malaysian hitter meets fellow finisher Elmehdi El Jamari in a strawweight Muay Thai contest at ONE Fight Night 32: Nakrob vs. Jaosuayai this Saturday, 6th June, at Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
Aliff is in the midst of a three-fight winning streak in ONE Championship, and he has scored five highlight-reel finishes in seven promotional wins. Given his recent run of form, the 22-year-old is more than confident he can score a pivotal victory this weekend and punch his way to the biggest fight of his life.
“Anything can happen in a fight. But I’m confident my KO power is better than his. Even if I had no confidence in my knockout power, I’d do my best to make sure it is at its best for this fight. If there’s a chance, with Allah’s grace, I’ll surely knock him out,” he said.
“I’m very confident that if I win this fight, I will get the chance to fight Prajanchai for his belt.”
While their clash at ONE Fight Night 32 is strictly business for Aliff, it’ll be personal for El Jamari. Last August, the Moroccan star’s brother, Zakaria, was knocked out in the first round by the Sor Dechapan striker. So, he’ll most likely be out for revenge.
Aliff knows this is a reality, and his belief that the younger El Jamari brother possesses greater strength has him fully anticipating a barnburner.
“Yeah, I’ve knocked out his brother. I think both of them have the same style. But, in my opinion, Elmehdi is much more powerful than Zakaria. He’s much more complete than his brother,” he said.
“I’m ready to test his power in this fight. I expect a fierce fight.”
