ONE Championship Chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong confirmed the title shot during Aliff’s post-fight interview with commentator Mitch Chilson. The Malaysian-Thai striker improved to 62-9 with the victory, handing the 19-year-old Lebanese competitor his first promotional loss.
Aliff controlled three rounds against Ondash, utilizing his physical advantages to establish offensive output and defensive positioning. The decisive moment came in the third round when Aliff scored a knockdown that influenced the judges’ scorecards.
The Sor Dechapan representative adjusted his approach after the knockdown, anticipating Ondash would pursue an aggressive finish to recover the round.
“When I got the knockdown, I had to be really careful because I knew that Ramadan would get up and he would try to knock me out to get his win,” Aliff said.
“So I played the game very carefully.”
Aliff’s game plan emphasized his reach and height advantages against the younger opponent. The physical attributes allowed him to control striking exchanges and maintain distance throughout the contest.
“I believe my height and reach advantage played a crucial role for this fight and I really needed to make use of that,” Aliff said.
The title shot represents Aliff’s first opportunity to compete for ONE Championship gold. Prajanchai has established himself as the division’s top competitor through multiple successful title defenses.
“I am confident that my next fight will be a title shot,” Aliff said.
“You know, they also announced it in the ring, so I’m very confident. Prajanchai, I hope you’re ready for me. I am coming for your belt.”
