Frlic entered the bout as an undefeated contender in the BRAVE CF heavyweight division, and he emerged as a serious threat to the promotion’s heavyweight title after he finished former title challenger Dubiela with strikes to take his record to 6-0-1 and put himself right in the frame for a title fight with reigning champion Pavel Dailidko in 2026.
Merchuk tees up historic title fight
In the night’s co-man event, Marina Merchuk handed Marina Spasic her first professional defeat as she claimed a unanimous decision victory in their women’s strawweight matchup.
Spasic stepped in on short notice to replace top contender Monika Kucinic, but was unable to convert her opportunity into victory as Merchuk pushed the fight all the way to the scorecards to win a decision.
After the fight, Merchuk faced off with Kucinic to seemingly set up a what would be the first-ever women’s title fight in BRAVE CF history.
Married couple experience contrasting results
There was also a moment of history as the husband-and-wife pairing of Maja and Domen Drnovsek both competed on the same fight card, but the pair suffered contrasting fortunes.
In the second bout of the night, Maja defeated Ghita Chafik by unanimous decision in her women’s bantamweight contest. Then, four bouts later, her husband Domen saw his bout with Lucian Dragomir end in the first round and ruled a no contest after an accidental eye poke left him unable to continue.
Also on the card, there were first-round finishes for Jan Berus, who stopped Gabriele Varesano with strikes, and Ognjen Micovic, who submitted Lasha Abashidze with a guillotine choke.
