It’s no wonder, then, that the new generation is coming in with great promise as Day 4 of the 2025 IMMAF World Championships has shown. Finland’s Isla Fono captured a spectacular submission via anaconda choke to book her ticket into the Lightweight finals. She will face Team Australia’s Erin Carter in one of the biggest matchups of the tournament.
Meanwhile, in the Atomweight bracket, Uruguay’s Jimena Osorio continues to dominate the competition on her way to what would be a historic world title win for her country. Osorio defeated Caitlyn Hadfield of Team England and is now set to face Ukraine’s Anna Hyria for gold.
Mariia Klein also continued her dominance in the Flyweight division. The 2024 World Champion and two-time European Champion aims to add another gold medal to her impressive collection. After three straight submission victories, she will take on Natalia Galkowska of Team Poland with the world title on the line.
Another athlete looking to become a two-time World Champion is England’s own Alanna Pritchard. Her 2025 campaign got off to a strong start as she defeated Diana Akhmetova via TKO. Pritchard will now fight for gold once again, this time against hometown favourite Mariam Topuria of Team Georgia.
Among the men, standout performances came from Oskar Sennewald, who earned another submission and will now fight for Middleweight gold, and Joseph Frodsham, who faces Marc Cabrera Ramon for the Bantamweight world title.
