PFL MENA Semi-Finals: Full fight card confirmed for 'Champions Collide' in Riyadh

The semi-final matchups are set, and the full fight card has been announced ahead of the PFL MENA semi-final event in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

The event, dubbed “Champions Collide” takes place at The Arena in Riyadh on Saturday, September 27, and will see 2024 PFL MENA finalist Mohammad Alaqraa take on Ayman Galal in one of the two welterweight semi-finals.

Kuwait’s Alaqraa earned his spot with a unanimous decision victory over Omar Hussein at PFL MENA 1, and he’ll be looking to punch his ticket to the welterweight final with victory over Galal, who has been handed a second shot at glory in the tournament.

Galal’s opening round bout with Mohamed Zarey at PFL MENA 2 ended in an decision defeat. But after Zarey was discovered to have failed an doping test, the Wyoming State Athletic Commission overturned the result to a no contest.

It meant that Galal received a reprieve in the tournament, and will now go on to face Alaqraa in the welterweight semi-finals.

The other half of the welterweight bracket will see Badreddine Diani take on Amir Fazli. Morocco’s Diani is on a three-fight win streak, including a unanimous decision win over Ahmed Darwish at PFL MENA 2 in July.

He’ll take on Iran’s Fazli, who is looking to go one step better in 2025 after losing out in the playoffs last year. He defeated Rostem Akman via second-round knockout to earn his spot in the final four, and will be keen to repeat that performance against Diani and earn a spot in the tournament finale.

In addition to the welterweight division, the fight card in Riyadh features the tournament semi-finals at lightweight, featherweight and bantamweight, with a packed lineup of bouts set for action on September 27.
