McGrillen vs Loughran set to feature as main card confirmed for PFL Champions Series Dubai

The five-fight main card for the PFL Champions Series event in Dubai in October is now official, with a dynamite England vs Ireland bantamweight bout forming a big part of the lineup.

The fight card will be headlined by the PFL lightweight title rematch between defending champion Usman Nurmagomedov and Paul Hughes, with the light heavyweight title set to feature in the co-main event, as Corey Anderson takes on Dovlet Yagshimuradov.

During the PFL World Tournament live broadcast in Charlotte, North Caroline, the three other main card matchups were officially unveiled as the full five-fight lineup was announced.

At lightweight, undefeated Archie Colgan will put his perfect professional record on the line when he takes on New Zealand’s Jay-Jay Wilson.

It’s a battle between two fighters with exemplary recors, with Colgan putting his 12-0 resumé up against the 11-1 record of “The Maori Kid” Wilson in a fight that could propel the winner towards a potential title shot further down the line.

Also added to the card is a pair of bantamweight matchups. Firstly, England’s explosive Lewis McGrillen will take on former Cage Warriors champion and ex-UFC athlete, Caolan Loughran.

“The McGrizzla” has already marked himself out as one of the wildest, most exciting bantamweights on the roster, most notably for his 2024 fight of the year contender with Dean Garnett en route to capturing the PFL Europe bantamweight title.

Now he’ll face off against “The Don” Loughran, who is ready to make his mark on his PFL debut after departing the UFC following victory at UFC London in March.

Kicking off the main card is another high-octane bantamweight bout, as two of the top contenders in the division go head-to-head.

Russia’s Magomed Magomedov is 21-4 and has his sights set on a shot at the bantamweight crown, but standing in his way is the man who used to hold the former Bellator 135-pound champion Sergio Pettis, who has his own quest for championship gold.
