The event, ONE’s fourth numbered card of the 2025, will take place on Saturday, November 16, with tickets going on general sale on Saturday, July 5.
“After a record-breaking event in Japan last March at the legendary Saitama Super Arena that garnered more than two billion organic digital views, we are thrilled to return to Tokyo and the Ariake Arena this November to showcase the world’s very best martial artists at ONE 173,” said ONE chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong.
“This will mark the fifth time ONE has held an on-ground event in the iconic city of Tokyo, and we can’t wait to put on another can’t-miss spectacle for our passionate global fan base.
“We are constructing a card that will be electric from start to finish, featuring multiple World Title bouts across various martial arts disciplines that will create lifelong memories for all those in attendance and watching around the globe.”
The event will be ONE’s first at Ariake Arena since ONE 165 in January 2024. That event was headlined by a flyweight kickboxing match between Thai superstar Superlek and Japanese fan-favorite Takeru. Superlek got the nod on the judges’ scorecards after five rounds to take the victory with scores of 49-46 across the board.
Also competing that night were Japanese martial arts icon Shinya Aoki, who defeated John Lineker in an openweight matchup, and Yoshihiro Akiyama, who was stopped by Dutch kickboxing ace Nieky Holzken.
Bouts for the upcoming ONE 173 event in Tokyo will be announced in the coming weeks.
