Nong-O was last in action at ONE Fight Night 31 last month, where he outstruck #3-ranked flyweight Muay Thai contender Kongthoranee Sor Sommai in a blistering rematch inside Bangkok, Thailand’s Lumpinee Stadium to pick up the unanimous decision win.
Having returned to winning ways, there are plenty of names to match the veteran battler with. But if Superbon had his way, he’d pit him against “The Iron Man” for the vacant flyweight Muay Thai crown.
“If it’s Rodtang, I think it’s fun. Fighting with Rodtang, you have to do your homework to defend against his punches,” he critiqued.
“Rodtang’s punches are scary.”
Since Superbon floated the idea of Rodtang against Nong-O, the interest in the all-Thai battle has gained interest online. And the latter star has even given his two cents.
Nong-O has a close and personal friendship with Superbon, and he is in regular contact with Rodtang, too.
But when it comes down to business, the 38-year-old has said that he is willing to put personal feelings aside for what would certainly be one of the biggest striking showdowns in recent memory.
“Well, I don’t think it would be a problem,” Nong-O told the South China Morning Post.
“We all know that we go out, play football together, but when it comes to the ring, we are all professionals, and we will do our job. So I don’t think there would be any challenges.”
