Lohore makes his return to the BRAVE CF cage this weekend at BRAVE CF 94, where he’ll take on Mansur Abdurzakov, and if he gets the result he’s looking for, a clash with Kubanza might not be too far away.
But, if you ask Lohore, he doesn’t see “King Kong” as an obstacle he needs to clear to reach his goal of capturing super-welterweight championship gold.
In a video posted to the BRAVE CF Instagram page, Lohore asked, “Does he have followers? Do people know him around the world? What does this fight do for me?
“I don’t have a lot of years left in my career, so I only want big fights. That fight is not a big fight.
“The guy doesn’t have no following. The guy doesn’t have no one. No one knows the guy. Which is why I’m not going to mention his name. I’m going to let you guys mention his name.”
Lohore and Kubanza have both lit up the super-welterweight division, leading to speculation over what might happen if the pair ever met inside the BRAVE CF cage. But for Lohore, at least, his sights are set elsewhere as he prepares to face Abdurzakov. If he wins, he’s almost certain to call for a fight with reigning champion Luiz Cado.
But, with Kubanza currently sitting in the number-one contender spot, it remains to be seen how the division will shake out over the coming months.
“Eagles don’t fly with pigeons,” Lohore stated when asked about a fight with Kubanza. But he did leave the door slightly open, as he stated that the one scenario where the pair could face off in the BRAVE CF cage would be if championship gold is on the line.
For that to happen, Lohore needs to win on Saturday in Geneva at BRAVE CF 94. If he does, expect the speculation to ramp up even further.
