The preliminary card at UFC 315 saw a pair of Canadian stars pick up big wins for their respective careers.
Welterweight Mike Malott earned one of the biggest roars of the night from the Montreal crowd as he dropped, then stopped Charles Radtke with a vicious barrage of fists in their 170-pound battle.
Radtke, had some pointed words for the Canadian fans in the build-up to the fight as he took issue with the booing of the US national anthem during the recent ice hockey series between the US and Canada, and stated taht his message to the Canadian fans was, “basically, f**k you.”
Malott attempted to play down the US vs. Canada rhetoric in the lead-up, but that didn’t stop the Montreal fans chanting “f**k you Radtke” as the bout got underway.
And, when Malott finished the American in emphatic fashion at the start of the second round, the roof nearly came off the Bell Centre.

“You guys have no idea what this means to me,” Malott said after his win.
“This is just a small kid from Waterdown Ontario Canada’s dream to feel this. I can’t even express how I’m proud I am to represent you guys and how much I love you guys. This means the world to me.”
When Daniel Cormier asked about Radtke’s comments about Malott having to “defend Canada” in the fight, the crowd booed the defeated American. But Malott shut down the negativity, saying, “No! Don’t boo him. We’re celebrating now!
“That’s done. We’re celebrating now, baby! We’re cheering. This is our time. No negativity, only positivity, baby! Hey, and when it comes to defending this country in the Octagon, know one thing, Canada. I stand on guard for thee.”

Also on the prelims, rising flyweight contender Jasmine Jasudavicius submitted former strawweight champion Jessica Andrade in impressive fashion as she claimed a first-round finish in just two minutes, 40 seconds.
Jasudavicius showed her dominance on the mat as she locked up a rear-naked choke to force the tap mid-way through the opening stanza and immediately put herself among the division’s contenders at 125 pounds.
