The PFL heads to Tennessee on June 12 for the first semi-final event, which will feature the welterweight and featherweight divisions, as their respective tournaments roll on at the Nashville Municipal Auditorium in Nashville.
The format is simple: win and you’re in, with the night’s victors heading into the tournament finals set for August.
The main event of the first semi-final event will see former Bellator welterweight champion Jason Jackson take on undefeated Thad Jean in a 170-pound semi-final clash.
Jackson choked out Andrey Koreshkov in the second round at Universal Studios in Florida to punch his ticket to the welterweight final four, where he’ll take on Jean, who delivered arguably the performance of the night with his first-round knockout of Mukhamed Berkhamov.
The co-main event will see 2023 PFL featherweight champion Jesus Pinedo take on Gabriel Braga in a trilogy bout, with each man holding one win over the other from their past PFL skirmishes.
Pinedo finished longtime Bellator featherweight contender Adam Borics with strikes in the first round of their matchup in Orlando, while Braga also got the job done in the opening round, but via submission, as he defeated Fred Dupras.
Now the pair will do battle for the third time with a place in the featherweight final, and bragging rights in their fighting trilogy, up for grabs.
Also set for the main card in Nashville are the other semi-final bouts at welterweight and featherweight. Former Bellator interim welterweight champion Logan Storley will take on Japanese contender Masayuki Kikuiri at 170 pounds, while at 145, former undefeated 2021 PFL featherweight champion Movlid Khaybulaev takes on South Korea’s 11-1 contender Taekyun Kim.
