The matchup has been dubbed “History vs Legacy” as Jun looks to become only the second simultaneous two-division champion in BRAVE CF history, while the only man to achieve that honour inside the BRAVE CF cage, Fakhreddine, bids to reclaim the middleweight crown he captured back in 2020 at BRAVE CF 41.
Jun will look to maintain his undefeated record inside the BRAVE CF cage as he attempts to claim his fourth straight win under the BRAVE banner. The Bosnian-born fighter, who started out as a health and fitness influencer, switched his attention to MMA back in 2018 as he embarked on his combat sports career with Polish fight promotion KSW.
Competing at heavyweight, Jun reeled off three straight wins before being knocked out by the much larger former World’s Strongest Man Mariusz Pudzianowski at KSW 51. Another KO loss followed in German promotion EMC, prompting Jun to drop some muscle mass and move down to light heavyweight.
Since then, “The Bounty Hunter” has gone undefeated, with six straight wins, including a hat-trick of victories under the BRAVE CF banner.
His promotional debut saw him stop Marko Drmonjic in the first round at BRAVE CF 70, then in January 2024 he knocked out Pawel Trybala in just 57 seconds to announce himself as a serious contender at 205 pounds.
Jun was then faced, and defeated, fellow contender Mohamed Said Maalem, again via first-round finish, to earn a shot at the vacant light heavyweight crown, and though he had to battle through to the fourth round against Alexander Wesner, he claimed his sixth straight stoppage win via a combination of vicious leg kicks and heavy follow-up strikes to capture the light heavyweight title.
Now he’s moving down to 185 pounds, where he’ll face a man who knows what it takes to capture championship gold in that weight class.
Fakhreddine built a well-earned reputation as somebody who would take on all opposition across the region, and he stopped Daniel Pereira in the fourth round at BRAVE CF 41 to capture the promotion’s middleweight title.
But “The Latest” wasn’t done there. After his bout with Said Maalem for the vacant light heavyweight title at BRAVE CF 52 was ruled a no contest due to illegal strikes to the back of the head by his opponent, the pair were ordered to rematch at BRAVE CF 57, where Fakhreddine stopped Said Maalem with strikes early in the second round to become the first, and so far only, simultaneous two-division champion in BRAVE CF history.
After two years away from the promotion, Fakhreddine returned with a resounding second-round TKO victory over Adbel Rahmane Driai at BRAVE CF 92 last December. Now he has the chance to recapture the middleweight belt he never lost in the cage when he faces Jun on June 7.
