The pair will face off in a rematch of their first bout at UFC 297, which Du Plessis won by split decision. And, as they set foot on the scale, both men looked in great shape as they hit the 185-pound middleweight limit on the nose for their second title tussle.
The co-main event features a strawweight title clash, as China’s reigning champion Zhang Weili puts her belt on the line against undefeated American Tatiana Suarez.
Zhang arrived on the scale right on the 115-pound limit, while Suarez weighed in with half a pound to spare, at 114.5.
The remainder of the main card all weighed in successfully, including a heavy-duty heavyweight matchup between Justin Tafa and Tallison Teixeira, who combined for a whopping 529 pounds for their bout this weekend.
The only issue came lower down the card, with Nyamjargal Tumendemberel experiencing issues during his weight cut that led to his bout with Hyun Sung Park being cancelled and removed from the fight card.
But the rest of the card all hit their contracted marks to lock in a 12-fight lineup for Saturday night (Sunday, local time) in Sydney.
