The fighters set for action at the PFL Europe Championships in Lyon all hit their contracted weights ahead of fight night in France.
The fight card is topped by a trio of showcase fights, and everybody involved made weight without issue.
The headline bout will feature French grappling ace and cult hero Abdout Abdouraguimov, and the man known as “The Lazy King” made weight for his welterweight bout with Laureano Staropoli, coming in at 170.6 pounds to Staropoli’s 170.8.
Rising Belgian star Patrick Habirora will take on Catalin Safta in a 165-pound catchweight co-main event bout, and both had no issues with their weigh-ins, with Habirira tipping the scale at 165.3 compared to Safta’s 165.1. It was a similar story with the heavyweights set for action in their showcase matchup, as Mickael Groguhe (263.6) and Lamine Sene (255.2) ensured they were within the 266-pound limit for their fight.
Elsewhere on the card, all of the fighters due to compete for PFL Europe championship gold all made weight with no problems. Bantamweights Lewis McGrillen and Alexander Luster both registered 134.9 pounds on the scale ahead of their final, while Jakub Kaszuba and Connor Hughes both had weight to spare, as they came in at 154.5 and 154.7 pounds, respectively, ahead of their championship clash.
Everybody else made weight with no problem, including the fighters set to battle for a PFL contract in special “Doumbe Decides” bouts. Those matchups will take place under the watchful eye of the PFL’s matchmakers, as well as French superstar Cedric Doumbe, who will help guide the decision-making process when the promotion gives out PFL contracts to the most deserving fighter, or fighters, on the night.
