Headlining the card is a battle for the Cage Warriors featherweight title, as newly-crowned champion Harry Hardwick takes on Keweny Lopes for the 145-pound strap, while Kennedy Freeman, daughter of UK MMA legend Ian “The Machine” Freeman, takes on Mafalda Carmona for the vacant women’s bantamweight title.
All four fighters had no problem making weight for the matchup, with each fighter arriving on the scale inside their respective championship limit.
The only minor drama on the scale came when Italian lightweight contender Dumitru Girlean arrived 0.9 pounds over the non-title limit for his bout against James Power. However, Girlean returned to the scale within the allotted time and made weight to ensure his participation on the card was confirmed.
The fight card did lose one matchup, though it had nothing to do with the weigh-ins. Flyweight champion Shaj Haque was due to put his title on the line against Nicolas Leblond, but with adverse weather conditions preventing him from making the trip to the North East of England, the bout was removed from the fight card.
