Boughanem will take on France’s Johan Van de Hel in a 72kg catchweight bout in Vienna as he looks to build on his early success in the BRAVE CF cage.
He claimed victory at BRAVE CF 83 earlier this year with a second-round finish of Saad Touijar to continue his undefeated start to life in professional MMA.
Now standing at 2-0 in MMA, Boughanem will look to add another victory to his ledger when he returns to the cage in Vienna against Van de Hel, who will enter the bout with a significant experience advantage over the Moroccan striker. He also has experience in other striking arts, including bare-knuckle boxing.
But Boughanem’s overall combat sports credentials extend beyond Van de Hel’s. The Moroccan is regarded as one of the best non-Thai Muay Thai fighters to compete in “The Art of Eight Limbs” and has 200 Muay Thai victories to his name.
But with Boughanem still very much in the prospect stage of his MMA career, he’ll be looking to use his Muay Thai experience to continue his progression. And, with Boughanem joined on the BRAVE CF roster by fellow striking stars Ilias Bulaid and Nabil Haryouli, the Bahrain-based promotion is developing a growing reputation as an established home for striking specialists who are transitioning to MMA.
BRAVE CF 90 will be making its debut in Austria, with the nation becoming the 16th European nation to host BRAVE CF and the 35th overall, extending the company’s leadership in both rankings.
