Torres, who captured the promotion’s 135-pound title, lost his bantamweight title trilogy with Nkosi Ndebele, and hinted that a move to 125-pounds could be on the cards.
Now he’s made that move official, issuing a statement to BRAVE CF via his social media channels to confirm his intention to compete at flyweight moving forward.
“I’ve won and brought to my city three different titles as a professional and now I think it’s time to go after another one,” he wrote.
“BRAVE CF flyweight title, here I come! Let fight camp begin!”
Torres has competed at 125 pounds before. He defeated Amir Albazi at flyweight on his BRAVE CF debut and added another victory, over Blaine O’Driscoll, as well as a draw with Sean Santella, before making the move up to bantamweight and eventually capturing the 135-pound title.

That win came over Ndebele, but when the South African defeated him in back-to-back rematches to seal the trilogy and cement his status as the bantamweight king, Torres took the decision to move to 125 pounds, where fresh challenges await.
They could include the promotion’s big-name returnee, with Muhammad Mokaev rejoining the promotion to make a run of his own towards the flyweight title. A collision between the pair would seem inevitable, and could deliver the biggest title fight in BRAVE CF history.
But Mokaev isn’t the only challenge awaiting “Shorty.” The division also boasts Luthando Biko, sambo world champion Velimurad Alkhasov, sambo European champion Bidizina Gavashelisvili and South African contender Marciano Ferreira, to name a few.
It all means that BRAVE CF’s flyweight division will be essential viewing as the promotion looks to determine their top talent at 125 pounds in the coming months.
