Jones’ movements were almost surgical after this, manipulating Gane’s body weight in his attempts to stand up.

Jones moved slowly yet effectively on the canvas, creating space for him to move into the mount position. Gane kept a cool head as he tried to get back up until Jones quickly locked in a neck wrap and forced the submission.

Here are the UFC official scorecards for Gane vs Jones UFC 285 results.

Jon Jones vs Ciryl Gane Round-by-Round Coverage

Jon Jones returns to the Octagon after more than three years, pushing up into the heavyweight division and making quick work of Ciryl Gane at UFC 285 in T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on Saturday night.

Jon Jones’ record improves to 21-1-0 with no losses in the UFC, leading many to believe he is the greatest fighter of all time. His emphatic victory against Ciryl Gane leaves no doubt – leaving Gane stunned by the ease of Jones’ win and unable to do anything about it.

    UFC commentator Jon Anik said:

“He still looks shaken. He still looks in total disbelief.”

Jon Jones’ impressive victory was even more remarkable considering he was ordered to remove the tape from his foot when entering the Octagon.

Jones vs Gane – Round 1

From his iconic crouched stance, Jones strides to the center of the Octagon, and exchanges a few leg kicks with Gane. Suddenly, Gane hits a low blow that elicits boos from the crowd.

Jones swiftly rebounds and they start fighting again. Gane is nimble, trying to keep the distance between himself and Jones. Jones almost takes down Gane with a leg kick but fails to execute it perfectly.

Jones stalks Gane like a predator, slipping under the Frenchman’s right hand and getting behind him. He takes Gane down with a thud, amid cheers from the crowd.

Gane fights to work his way back up to his feet but can’t manage to reclaim the position. Jones locks in a guillotine choke, and Gane does his best to defend it but eventually taps out against the cage.

After a thrilling first round, it’s all over – Jon Jones is crowned the new UFC heavyweight champion after submitting Gane with a guillotine choke! Cheers erupt from the crowd as Jones celebrates his victory.

A Jubilant, Loud, and Proud Jones – A Two-division Champ

The crowd rises to its feet in awe as Gane taps out to the hold, solidifying Jones’s place among the greats of MMA and confirming his title as the undisputed GOAT. Jones is celebrated for this historic achievement, proving once and for all that he is a force to be reckoned with!

“I had this strong conviction that if I were to get him down to the ground, the fight would be in my area,”

Jones told Joe Rogan after the victory.

“I’ve been wrestling since I was 12 years old and I feel stronger and more comfortable, especially on the ground, than ever.”

Here is what Jones had to say immediately after literally owning Ciryl Gane.

Gane in Pain …… and Anguish!

Ciryl Gane shared a candid reflection on his second failed attempt for the undisputed heavyweight title in the post-fight media talk.

    He said:

“When I think about the loss against Francis, it was not a big loss for me. I learned, but it was not too big. But this one is so painful.

“This one is a real loss. Now, this is the past. I must go forward to see the future. I’m going to go straight back to the gym.”

Who’s Next for Jones? Only the Best ….. Stipe Miocic!

Jon Jones has declared his ambition to challenge former long-reigning heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic in an upcoming bout. This announcement comes after Jones’ impressive defeat of Dominick Reyes and subsequent victory in the UFC light heavyweight division.

    He said:

“Stipe Miocic, I hope you’re training, my guy.

“You’re the greatest heavyweight of all time, and that’s what I want. I want you — real bad.”

    How the World Reacts?

Here’s just a hint of how different people reacted to Jones’ historic return and victory, becoming a two-division heavyweight champ of the world.

    Miocic’s Reaction

Following Jon Jones’ victory in the UFC light heavyweight division, he issued a challenge to former long-reigning heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic. Miocic, who was present for Jones’ coronation, had a blunt three-word response to the call out.

    He said:

    “Bring it b****.”

    Ngannou’s Reaction

Former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou also reacts to Jon Jones’ win.

    He tweeted:

    “Good job Jonny Boy.
    Sincerely, The heavyweight king.”

Dana White Continues to Hail Jones

“Jon Jones went in there and treated him [Gane] like a little kid.”

    The UFC premiere said:

“The guy is unf**king believable. He really is.”

Here are a few other reactions UFC 285 results and highlights garner.

Jon jones is the baddest man on the planet. ?

Alexa Grasso vs Valentina Shevchenko – Grasso Stuns the World

The UFC’s women’s divisions produce some of the most remarkable champions in mixed martial arts. However, no one can remain undefeated forever. Such is the nature of the volatile and unpredictable sport.

Alexa Grasso’s monumental rear-naked choke of Valentina Shevchenko to become the women’s flyweight champion is just one more proof that anything can happen in MMA.

She’s now in the same league as Holly Holm taking out Ronda Rousey with a hick-kick, Rose Namajunas KOing Joanna Jedrzejczyk, and Julianna Pena submitting Amanda Nunes. Even the greatest fighters aren’t invincible. All it takes to succeed is belief and heart!

    #ANDNEW FLYWEIGHT CHAMPION OF THE WORLD, @AlexaGrasso ?? #UFC285 pic.twitter.com/Xtt2A8s0Zk

    — UFC (@ufc) March 5, 2023

Alexa Grasso had the upper hand in the first round. But Valentina Shevchenko took over in the later rounds, using her wrestling skills to keep Alexa away from her striking game.

Shevchenko’s well-executed strategy was ultimately what allowed her to secure the title with a rear-naked choke submission.

Alexa Grasso was able to capitalize on a brief moment of opportunity, taking Shevchenko down and locking in a rear-naked choke after the champion missed a spinning kick. This decisive move would put an end to Shevchenko’s impressive nine-fight winning streak and seven successful title defenses.

It’s an inspiring reminder that even the best fighters aren’t invincible – all it takes to triumph are belief and heart!

Valentina Shevchenko is likely to receive an immediate rematch for the title, giving Alexa Grasso the chance to prove her victory was not a fluke. Of all the women who have successfully ended long-reigning champion streaks in recent years, only Rose Namajunas managed to win her first championship defense. It’ll be interesting to see whether Grasso will join this exclusive club of female MMA champions.

Shavkat Rakhmonov vs Geoff Neal – Shavkat Remains Invincible

Never seeing the judges’ scorecards, Shavkat Rakhmonov is one of the most impressive fighters in MMA history. He has never lost a fight and never had to resort to judges’ scorecards for any of his bouts.

    — potentially not daig (@maybenotdiag) March 6, 2023

Despite Geoff Neal’s impressive defensive techniques and strong offensive strikes, Shavkat Rakhmonov was still able to maintain control of the fight. His jab snapped Neal’s head back every time it connected. And his right high kick had a unique angle that allowed it to slip past the guard and make contact. Rakhmonov’s ability to attack while at range made him an even more formidable opponent in this bout.

In the pocket, Shavkat Rakhmonov was demonstrating his power with a barrage of shots from different angles. He moved around smartly to pivot away from potential return fire and close in for the clinch. Unfortunately for Rakhmonov, he did get counter-struck by Neal’s big left overhand after trying to land a rear uppercut one too many times, showing the true nature of a wild brawl.

In the clinch, Shavkat Rakhmonov was relentless with his knees to Geoff Neal’s body. Just one of these powerful strikes had forced a finish against Alex Oliveira in the past. So, Neal should be commended for his ability to survive such punishment.

Despite all his efforts, however, Neal’s defense eventually broke down and he tapped out from a standing submission.

A Significant but Questionable Victory on Nickal’s UFC Debut

Bo Nickal is one of the most hyped fighters to make his UFC debut. The 27-year-old decorated amateur wrestler had blitzed through his first three professional fights, two of which were finished on Dana White’s Contender Series.

His performance has been so impressive that some fans and even Nickal himself believe he can compete for a world championship. It will be exciting to see if he can continue to back up the hype!

Despite being an uber-prospect with an undefeated 4-0 record, Bo Nickal made a few minor mistakes in his recent fight. He slipped on a head kick, might have gotten away with a knee to the cup, and had difficulty adjusting the arm triangle to finish the choke. These are all small critiques and evidence that he should take more than one fight before challenging someone like Khamzat Chimaev or Alex Pereira

Bo Nickal’s win was slightly tarnished by a clear low blow that the referee did not spot, leading to a takedown. The takedown seemed to be critical to Nickal’s game plan. So, it is understandable why his opponent’s manager has decided to appeal the loss on the grounds that the foul changed the course of the fight.

    Jake Gyllenhaal Steals the Show

Hollywood actor Jake Gyllenhaal made waves with his impressive physique at the weigh-in before delivering a stunning knockout win in Las Vegas, stealing the show.

At UFC 285, Jake Gyllenhaal made his grand entrance to the octagon and was greeted with raucous applause for taking part in the full and authentic UFC walkout. The 42-year-old actor, who plays Dalton in the upcoming remake of ‘Roadhouse’, faced off against former UFC star Jay Hieron, playing The Champion.

Jake Gyllenhaal dodged a few punches at the beginning of the fight but eventually faced some heavy blows while against the octagon fence. Afterward, he delivered powerful hooks which shifted the tide of the match. The opponent was rocked and ultimately put down by a ferocious knee strike that ended it all.

Conor McGregor watched from ringside and after the fight ended, the two shared a warm embrace that left the crowd buzzing with excitement.

To make things even more interesting, UFC president Dana White cracks a USADA joke on Hollywood star Jake Gyllenhaal’s physique.

    Dana said:

    “I don’t think he’s been USADA tested.”

So, we are expecting a lot of action and fun in the coming months. And you better be expecting RDX Sports to bring all of it your way, just like we’ve always done it. Keep your fingers crossed!
