How The Night Unfolded
The two boxing epitomes walked to the ring in glaring lights and beautiful fireworks. While it was a third consecutive fight for the Briton boxer in home stadium, the away fighter seemed to have a strategy too. AJ kept his agility intact, he guarded himself from his opponent using his right hand only, while the New Zealander thwarted using both hands. The bout became more of a “boxing finesse” until the halfway stage and this is when the champs started exerting their power. The home fighter gave chase by using his left hand in the sixth. The runner-up took pride in losing the title to a “bigger and better opponent.”
Strategy
Parker stayed at his back foot throughout the bout in an attempt to avoid the home player’s jab. Joshua decided to occupy the center of the ring in all 12 rounds, but Parker’s agility seemed to put a standstill to the Britons’ attacks. Although the unified champ threw in some uppercuts, Parker’s speed made the latter evade the prodigious shots from his opponent.
Although a very close fight, the bout was devoid of fiery punches and sensational moves. The ghastly refereeing distanced the two boxers every time they engaged in any real action. The bout was fought 95{317a7769e272dec17b69bda26c6a5a4c5e6799efcd8a85f72cb552b76862c2b9} at distance and the close results suggest that the title was well-fought for.
